Past Lover, Are You Still There? 2.0
Performance 2026
Past Lover, Are You Still There? 2.0 revisits rituals of separation, cleansing and renewal from earlier performances. She repeats the bread ritual used for detachment, before washing herself with blue liquid. Moving through the audience, she cleans each person’s hands with the same liquid, extending a private act of purification into a shared gesture.
The performance ends with Yadanar eating a cake given to her by her lover. This final action shifts the work away from separation and towards the present, placing past and current attachments within the same ritual.
Developed intuitively during a period of uncertainty in Yadanar’s practice, the performance does not attempt to resolve these relationships. Instead, it re-stages familiar actions to test whether repetition can change their meaning.
